The Year 7 Mother and Son Evening and the Year 8 Father and Son Evening are fast approaching.
It would be an understatement to say that many changes take place in adolescence and the transition through the Junior School is not necessarily an easy path – for mothers as well as students. Because we recognise the inherent need for boys to discover their independence, and sometimes leave their mothers wondering what happened to their “little boy”, this year we introduce the Year 7 Mother and Son Night. This evening, facilitated by Mr Bill Jennings from Melbourne, provides “time and space” for mothers to connect with their sons and talk with other mothers in a similar position.
The evening is a wonderful experience for both mothers and sons and this year will be held on Tuesday 7th May starting at 7.00pm in St Marcellin’s Hall.
Likewise the communication between father and son to can literally “dry up” as the boy attempts to make steps towards manhood. A Father Son evening to be held on the 21st May in St Marcellin’s Hall at 7.00pm aims to assist to father to “step up” and become a greater part of their sons life through adolescence in the transition from boy to man.
