Champagnat Day
by Adriano Di Prato - Monday, 27 May 2013, 9:33 AM

On Tuesday, 18 June 2013, the College will be celebrating Champagnat Day. This is a significant event in our Marist calendar as we celebrate the feast day of our founder St. Marcellin Champagnat.

All students are expected to contribute a $10 donation. Students are welcome to contribute more than the minimum if they wish. All the money raised will be forwarded to Marist Missions via the Marist Solidarity Organisation. The money this year is going to the Pailin Community, in Cambodia. Collection will commence on Monday, 03 June via morning pastoral. We ask that all donations are made by Friday, 14 June 2013.

The day commences with a celebration of the Eucharist at St. Marcellin’s Hall for all students. Students will then be participating in a variety of House organised activities after lunchtime. Students will also be provided with a special free BBQ lunch, which be prepared by the Canteen staff. The day will conclude with the excitement of the third annual Marcellin’s Got Talent, showcasing the wonderful talents of our boys and staff.

This is a compulsory school day and all students are expected to attend. Those students who do not attend must bring a medical certificate upon their return to the College to explain their absence. Students are permitted to attend this event in appropriate casual attire.

We ask that St. Marcellin Champagnat pray for us and that our celebration of his feast day further enriches our Marist Charism. We look forward to another enjoyable day.
