On Monday 26th August 2013 Marcellin College is hosting its annual Inter-House Athletics Carnival.

The Carnival this year will be held at the Doncaster Athletics Club, at Rieschiecks Reserve on George Street, Doncaster. The College has chosen to use an external venue to allow for a greater range of activities to promote student involvement.

Students are required to be at the venue by 9:15am. The day will conclude with presentations and students will be dismissed at approximately 2:30pm from the venue. Buses will be provided to students who have indicated in Pastoral Group that they will be travelling from Marcellin College or Heidelberg train station. Public transport options are available for those students not travelling to the College or from Heidelberg with further details available at http://ptv.vic.gov.au/timetables/. Students who arrive at Doncaster Shoppingtown will be supported by staff as they walk the route along Doncaster Road to and from the athletics track.

Uniform requirements:
Students are required to attend the day wearing the Official College PE uniform:

§ Official House colour T-shirt (crew neck)

§ Maroon Marcellin PE shorts

§ Maroon Marcellin track pants

§ Appropriate footwear (no open toe-shoes or thongs)

For students in Years 11 or 12 who no longer possess the official College PE Uniform, they are required to attend the College in Full Winter Uniform. The only bag students are permitted to bring is the official Marcellin school bag. The Official House colour t-shirt is available from:

Bob Stewart’s

201 – 211 High St. Kew. 3101

Ph: 9853 8429

As this is a normal school day, it is the expectation of the College that students follow our Student Management Guidelines as set out in the student digital planner and on the College website.

No mobile phones or other electronic devices should be brought to the track to ensure relationships and house spirit is developed, as well as for security reasons.

This is a compulsory school day and all students are expected to attend. Those students who do not attend must bring a medical certificate upon their return to school to explain their absence.

Students are advised to bring their own lunch and adequate fluids; however there will be some food and drink available on the day via the Doncaster Athletics Club canteen. Each student is also advised to bring an appropriate hat and sunscreen.

Recent history has shown that the annual Inter-House Athletics Carnival has been effective in promoting College spirit and student and staff collegiality. We look forward to another positive day.
